WebLab-CMS uses a flexible homepage marking module that allows you to mark any page in your website as the Homepage and so doesn't rely on the page at the top of your site map being that homepage.
Why? Well, during our initial research on the product we found that users would find it useful to be able to switch their sites homepage for different occassions simply and easily. A good example would be to have page with a Christmas festive theme that you only want to use for December for example.
Weblab lets you create such a page and then simple mark it as your 'Homepage' within the page properties. When you republish your site, the newly selected homepage is the first thing your visitors will see! The nice thing is, your normal homepage is still there in your site map, and you can switch back to it anytime, just as easily.
Proceedure
- Select the page in your site map you want to use as the homepage.
- In the page properties window at the bottom of the page, tick the 'Is Homepage' box.
- Save your page and publish your website.
When you browse back to your live site now, your newly selected page will appear first.
